Annual fees commonly range from roughly €10,000 to €25,000 depending on school and age, with premium schools going higher — mid-range for Western Europe. Public schools and homeschooling

Children of legal residents can attend German state schools free of charge; the language of instruction is German, so younger children usually pick it up quickly while older teens may prefer an international school. School attendance (Schulpflicht) is compulsory and enforced for every child living in Germany regardless of nationality, and homeschooling is generally not permitted — a key difference from many other countries. Plan on an approved school placement from the start.
