Tax residency certificate
An official document from a country's tax authority confirming you are tax resident there.
A tax residency certificate is issued by your new country's tax authority and states that you are tax resident there for a given period. It is the key evidence for claiming benefits under a double tax treaty.
Why it matters
Without one, your former country may keep treating you as resident. It is the paperwork that proves the switch is real, so obtaining it should be part of any relocation plan.
