Permanent traveller
Someone who avoids becoming tax resident anywhere by continually moving — a strategy that can backfire.
The permanent traveller (or 'PT') keeps moving so as never to trigger tax residency anywhere. In theory it means paying tax nowhere; in practice it's increasingly fragile.
Why it matters
Some countries keep treating you as resident until you prove residency elsewhere, and banks expect a tax home. A real, low-tax base is usually safer than being a perpetual traveller.
